What are Blue Zones?

Blue Zones are regions around the world where people live longer and healthier lives compared to other areas. There are five Blue Zones: Okinawa (Japan), Loma Linda (California), Nicoya (Costa Rica), Ikaria (Greece), and Sardinia (Italy). Despite being spread across the globe, these areas share many common traits. For example, residents place high value on family, loved ones, and friends, and they have a clear sense of life purpose. Their diets are rich in plant-based, unprocessed, and locally sourced foods, often grown in their own gardens. Physical activity is an integral part of their daily lives. Their lifestyle is further characterized by gratitude for both big and small things, a positive attitude, and an acceptance of life as it comes.

The lifestyle in Blue Zones has been extensively studied by scientists and health experts. As a result, there is a wealth of information about the various factors contributing to a long and vital life in these areas. This forms the foundation of our insights, which we use to inspire as many people as possible towards a healthier and more vibrant lifestyle.
